Collaboration: Alec Soth & Brad Zellar

Alec Soth & Brad Zellar are two of the main collaborator’s in Soth’s publishing project: Little Brown Mushroom. The inception of Little Brown Mushroom as a collaboration began following Soth’s determination to give himself different voices as a photographer – becoming less introspective and more concerned with the usual goings on of the world around him. It was an opportunity for him to play and experiment with making finished products through these collaborations.

Extending Interdisciplinary Practice: Photography & Writing

Writing is a basic requirement of any work I make – whether it is to be part of the work, or is in a journal, or is self-reflective, I always write something somewhere, somehow. The key point between writing and photography in my work is the question of communication…am I going to be able to communicate more with you by showing you what I see or by telling you what I saw?
